Hey, I'm Gilchrist, a hospitality consultant who's also got a thing for specialty coffee.
Q. 바리스타를 시작하게 된 계기가 어떻게 되나요?
재미있는 이야기인데 호주에서 공부를 하며 카드값을 벌기 위해 바리스타를 시작했습니다. 카페 'La Marzocco'에서 일했는데 함께 일하는 팀원들이 제가 거부할 수 없을 정도로 멋있는 예술적인 커피의 세계에 대해 알려줬어요. 결국 스페셜티 커피에 완전 빠져들게 되었구요.
Q. What made you start as a barista?
Funny story – started as a barista in Australia to pay the bills while studying. Ended up falling hard for the whole specialty coffee scene. Working with La Marzocco, and the crew was like a crash course in coffee artistry that I couldn't resist.

10년 동안 La Marzocco, The Little Marionette와 같은 유명한 커피 회사에서 함께 일했습니다. 지금은 프랑스로 들아와서 Bonjour Jacob에서 바리스타 일을 하며 사랑하는 삶을 살고 있구요. Bonjour Jacob은 멋진 분위기와 매력적인 매거진 셀렉션을 선보이고 있는 멋진 장소에요!
Q. What did you do before becoming a barista at Bonjour Jacob?
I spent 10 years down under, worked with some big coffee names like La Marzocco and The Little Marionette. Now, I'm back in France, doing my consulting thing and loving life at Bonjour Jacob, this awesome spot with great vibes and a killer magazine selection.

Best part of being a barista? Seeing folks light up after sipping on a coffee I poured my heart into. It's like serving up a bit of happiness.

When I'm not behind the lens or coffee machine, you'll find me soaking up the artsy vibes of Paris, checking out cool cafes, and doing my thing with fashion photography.
